Larry Allen, MD: Benefits of Shared Decision Making in Heart Failure Patients

With many new drug discoveries and medical devices int he field of advanced heart failure, Larry Allen, MD, MHS and his team are working to create patient decision support tools to help them navigate any challenges.

At the Heart Failure Society's 20th Annual Scientific Meeting, Larry Allen, MD, MHS, discussed his research focus on shared decision making with patients. Within the field of advanced heart failure and transplantation and mechanical, circulatory support, there have been a number of new drug discoveries and devices. But, with advances comes a level of complexity with what's available to the patients in terms of their treatment, so their group has worked on a patient decision support tools to help them work through those challenges, explained Allen.
