With the condition lasting between one and five years, care can be a long and trying process that requires changes in treatment methods over time. Laura Korb Ferris, MD, PhD, from UPMC in Pittsburgh, said on a daily basis dermatologists can face any number of conditions ranging from acne to urticaria. Because of this, she said it is important for doctors to stay on top of the latest diagnosis and treatment methods in order to provide the highest level of care possible.
