The treatment of ADHD has made a lot of progress from where it was just a few years ago. Despite that there is much more work to be done to help this patient population.

Speaking at the annual meeting of the American Psychiatric Association in Atlanta, Manisha Madhoo, MD, from Shire Pharmaceuticals discussed what some of those steps might be in the short and near term. Madhoo some of that progress comes from the fact that treatment has made big strides in recent years, especially in regards to longer lasting medications curently on the market. They are also working on better delivery options as well as new treatment methods that are currently in development.
