Located on the campus of the Brooke Army Medical Center in San Antonio the Center for the Intrepid is an inspiring facility in the world of military medicine helping wounded service members move forward after amputations.

Lt. Col. Kathleen Yancosek who serves as the director of the center discussed the work they do and how their ability to treat patients has improved dramatically in recent years with much more work to be done during a recent interview with MD Magazine.

When a patient is treated at the Center For The Intrepid their care comes from more than just their doctor or a nurse, there is an entire team focused on providing the best treatment possible in all aspects of their lives after their injury and recovery.

When patients receive treatment at the Center for the Intrepid the focus of the work is not only on getting them better while they're in the hospital and just after their injury, but also preparing them for life at home given their new circumstances.
