What should physicians tell patients who are worried about lead in their drinking water? Filtering that water is an easy first step, and there are others.
From knowing the age of their house to filtering their water on a regular basis there are some basic steps that people can take to limit the risk of exposure to excessive amounts of lead.
In part 2 of our interview Steven Marcus, MD, of the New Jersey Medical School at Rutgers University offered tips to reduce the risk of lead exposure from drinking water. But lead is a society-wide problem, and not just in the cities, he said.
