Since 2013, the Infectious Diseases Society of America and the American Association for the Study of Liver Diseases have worked together to develop evidence-based guidance for the diagnosis, management, and treatment of hepatitis C virus (HCV) infection.

This update to the previous 2020 guidelines was released in 2023 and reflects our current understanding of the infection with timely, evidence-based guidance spotlighting major changes related to screening, organ transplantation, and expanded treatment options for children and adolescents.
