While surgeons across the globe have become used to performing procedures with the same equipment as their colleagues there could be some benefit to having tools specifically designed for their individual preferences.

While surgeons across the globe have become used to performing procedures with the same equipment as their colleagues there could be some benefit to having tools specifically designed for their individual preferences.

Speaking at the annual meeting of the American Society of Retina Specialists in San Francisco, David Chow, MD, from the University of Toronto said it was hard to find quantifiable data on topic as doctors are able to do their work with or without the personalized tools. However, Chow said that while it was difficult to measure the success of the newer tools his research had shown that doctors were generally happier with equipment designed specifically for them in the operating room.
