Credit Card Rights

Many consumer experts advise usingplastic, especially for major purchases, because the credit card issuer will oftengo to bat for you if you have a problemwith the vendor. There's a limit to thecredit card company's benevolence, however;it won't fight your battle if yourbeef is about the quality of the item. Inthis case, you need to position the disputeas pertaining to products or services notdelivered as agreed. Although many consumersthink they're off the hook on disputedcharges, you may still have topay if the credit card company examinesthe dispute and decides there was no mistake, even if you disagree with the finding. The card issuer can even charge youa fee if it decides that the disputed chargewas not an error, although credit cardissuers seldom do.
