A Study of Antimicrobial Stewardship, Length of Stay, and Readmission

Jason Newland, MD, Discusses an antimicrobial stewardship program that looked at length of stay and readmission of patients.

In one of the largest studies of its kind Jason Newland of Children's Mercy Hospital in Kansas City worked with doctors on antimicrobial stewardship. The study looked at the impact of a stewardship program when it related to how long the patients stayed in the hospital and how likely they were to be admitted during the process.
