Franklin was just released from a Detroit hospital last weekend, following a brief stay for undisclosed reasons. Her publicist Tracey Jordan told the media that Franklin was “resting comfortably at home, but is anxious to get back on the road to perform for her countless fans around the world.”

A Christmas concert for Detroit’s Fox Theatre,as well as a pair of concerts at New York's Radio City Music Hall in February, are among the canceled shows.

A source close to Franklin told Detroit Free Press that that Franklin “is not terminally ill. She's not dying.” Whatever the health issue may be, we wish Aretha a speedy recovery.

Franklin has 18 Grammy Awards and an endless list of achievements and accolades which can be found on her Wikipedia page.
