John Kelso, MD, from the Scripps Clinic Carmel Valley discussed the new additions to the field during the American College of Physicians Internal Medicine Meeting in Boston. Kelso said that while the Epipen is the most commonly known form of auto injector a new product known as Auvi-Q has visual and audio components to make the process smoother for the patients of all ages. "Whichever one is chosen, certainly the patient needs to be familiar with how to use it," he said.
