Patients with diabetes face many challenges over the course of a day, not the least of which is ensuring their blood glucose levels stay in a safe range. Technological advances have helped make this an easier obstacle to overcome.

Bruce W. Bode, MD, from Atlanta Diabetes Associates discussed the results of a study which looked at this topic during the American Diabetes Association's annual meeting in New Orleans. Bode's study involved usage of the Glucommander system which is used primarily in inpatient care and can help doctors monitor their patient's glucose levels thanks to the data being uploaded to the cloud making it more easily accessible more immediately and effectively.
