Recent growth in cardiology suggests patients' greater awareness of heart disease.

 

 

There was a 16% increase between 2010 and 2013 in the number of cardiologists practicing in the United States. 

 

One-third of US cardiologists practice in a hospital-owned worksite.

 

The adoption rate of electronic health records among cardiologists (57%) in 2012 was slightly higher than the rate in the overall physician community (<50%).

 



 

Cardiologists as a group are less likely than all physicians to open marketing and promotional email (open rates 4.5% and 4.1%, repsectively).
