Charles King: Transformation Is Necessary To End The Epidemic

Author(s):

"The is no one living with HIV in this country who shouldn't have access to a treatment combination that works for them."

At the 20th Annual United States Conference on AIDS, Charles King continued that at teh headquarters in New York, Housing Works is moving to a comprehensive system of integrated care where everyone is taking responsibility mutually, for the health outcomes and other outcomes that a patient/client/consumer is looking for. Whereas before clinicians were responsible for HIV patients, now even non clinician members are responsible for viral suppression. King also spoke about the ACT NOW Coalition and how it's especially important now to share resources and experiences, because an end to the AIDS epidemic in the US is "within our reach". "We can not only end transmission," said King, "But we can end progression from HIV to AIDS and we can end AIDS mortality."
