Facial Rash in Dermatomyositis. What Other Clues?

Heliotrope rash is associated with dermatomyositis. What are some of the other skin signs?



This facial rash, known as the heliotrope rash, is one of several skin signs that are pathognomic of dermatomyositis. A violaceous discoloration of the eyelids is characteristic, and may be associated with a more extensive facial rash with a photosensitive distribution.
