The 2013 AAPM annual meeting will be held at the Greater Fort Lauderdale/Broward County Convention Center.

According to the AAPM, this year’s meeting will provide attendees with “the information you need on the latest science and advancements in the treatment of pain. It will provide you with more pain resources and connections with others so that you have the most current information from the front lines of pain medicine.”

The 2013 AAPM Annual Meeting will also feature “an excellent lineup of expert faculty who will address the latest science and the most relevant topics facing pain practitioners today. There are also very relevant interventional and military tracks you won’t want to miss, not to mention the chance to brush up on pharmacology and practice management and a host of other informative sessions in the workshops.”

The Schedule-at-a-Glance also provides concise information about this year’s “robust schedule of plenary sessions, workshops and pre-meeting activities, featuring thought leaders in pain medicine.”

The pre-conference sessions scheduled for April 11 include presentations on platelet-rich plasma regenerative therapy and ultrasound guided blocks.

The “Essential Tools for Treating the Patient in Pain™” course is a two-day session (April 10-11) designed for clinicians who are “interested in obtaining an overview of some of the fundamentals of Pain Medicine in addition to practical approaches to the treatment of common pain disorders. The course offers clinically focused lectures and case presentations on the assessment, diagnosis, and treatment of patients with various acute, cancer and chronic pain syndromes.” "Essential Tools for Treating the Patient in Pain™" is accredited for up to 16 AMA PRA Category 1 credits®.

Posters and Abstracts

Group 1 posters (poster #s 100-173, and 239) will cover topics in translational pain medicine, pharmacological pain management, and epidemiology/health policy/education.

Group 1 posters will be displayed Thursday, April 11, starting at 5:15pm through Friday, April 12, at 10:30am.

Study authors will be available at the following dates and times:

  • Thursday, April 11, at 5:15-6:45pm
  • Friday, April 12, at 9:15-10:15am

Group 2 posters (poster #s174-238) will cover topics in pain management procedures and psychosocial/rehabilitation pain medicine.

Group 2 posters will be displayed Friday, April 12, starting at 6:00pm through Saturday, April 13, at 10:45am.

Study authors will be available at the following dates and times:

  • Friday, April 12, at 6:00-7:30pm
  • Saturday, April 13, at 9:30-10:45am
