The Qazi Corner will be a quarterly newsletter led by Taha Qazi, MD, of the Cleveland Clinic and featuring new data, conference highlights, and perspectives of leading gastroenterologists.
Welcome to The Qazi Corner, a quarterly gastroenterology newsletter featuring Taha Qazi, MD, of the Cleveland Clinic.
The aim of this project is to bring unique, expert-led perspectives on the latest data, guidance, and trends in gastroenterology every quarter, often centered on major conferences like the American College of Gastroenterology (ACG) and Digestive Disease Week (DDW).
While these meetings are well-attended, only a small percentage of gastroenterologists are able to actually attend. And there remains a need for experts in the field who are able to attend these events to be able to interpret the data and lay out what the important themes are.
In addition, content will center on not only the more common gastrointestinal disorders like inflammatory bowel disease (IBD) and irritable bowel syndrome, but also some of the less common disorders like eosinophilic esophagitis (EoE).
And the Cleveland Clinic with Qazi is the perfect organization to take on this endeavor.
Qazi will be headlining the project every quarter and penning the feature column. However, the newsletter will also feature other fellows and doctors from the Cleveland Clinic.
Qazi joined HCPLive for an explanatory interview on the project, what he hopes to accomplish, and why it is important to have an outlet for gastroenterologists to learn what is happening in research in the field.
“What we are hoping to do is to highlight new data, new research that is being presented at our meetings and between meetings that provide practical use for the practicing gastroenterologist regarding the management of conditions,” Qazi said. “The hope is that we can not only highlight the work of our fellows at the Cleveland Clinic, but also research that’s being done at our meetings, which many are unable to go to.”
