Working in the field of diabetes there has been a considerable amount of progress made, but there is still a long way to go in patient care.

Joseph Giangola, MD, started his medical work in New York before going to Boston. He currently works at Hackensack University Medical Center, now known as HackensackUMC, and said the progress he has seen is far beyond where the field was where he first started. Being able to help patients live a higher quality of life, he said, makes his job special even after many years in the field.
