Diabetes may be a common condition but there are still some parts of the condition that are misunderstood even by doctors and health care professionals treating these patients.

Not only are there distinct differences between types 1 and 2 diabetes, but patients with type 2 diabetes will all require different treatment approaches. Because of this Joseph Giangola, MD, from Hackensack University Medical Center said doctors cannot take a one size fits all approach to patient care, which can be an issue in treatment.
