Maria Rosa Costanzo: 'Special Knowledge' Matters in Heart Failure Treatment

As more focus is put on the treatment of heart failure, especially more serious cases, specialized training and certification is being offered to give patients the highest quality of care possible.

Participating in a "great debate," during the annual meeting of the American College of Cardiology in Chicago, Maria Rosa Costanzo, MD, from the Advocate Heart Institute discussed a special training program which has been implemented to provide a higher level of care for patients. While less than 1000 doctors nationwide have attained this certification so far Rosa said that they can help better inform colleagues to provide better care to their patients while others go through the needed training process.
