Murli Manohar, PhD, from Tulane University discussed research done on this topic at Digestive Disease Week (DDW 2016) in San Diego, California. At the conference, Manohar discussed a variety of angles his team is taking to look into this problem and what it can mean to help keep patients as healthy as possible. He also noted the importance of being aware the role alcohol can play in the developing and worsening of the condition.
