Orthopedists looking to refresh their minds on a variety of orthopedic procedures may be interested in the new four-volume reference, “Operative Techniques in Orthopaedic Surgery,” published by Lippincott Williams & Wilkins.

The volume was written by leading orthopedists and provides start-to-finish guidance for an extensive and inclusive list of contemporary orthopedic surgery techniques, according to a press release.

Edited by Sam W. Wiesel, MD, orthopaedic surgeon-in chief at Georgetown University Hospital, as well as 13 section editors, and featuring 800 contributions, the volume features 12,500 original photographs and illustrations, and each procedure covers preoperative planning, equipment and anesthesia, surgical techniques, potential complications, and more.
