Dr. Carlo Di Mario gives an overview on atherosclerosis. Atherosclerosis is cholesterol rich plaque which accumulates in the heart arteries, and blocks the lumen or inside of the vessel. This can cause decreased blood flow to the heart, called ischemia, which commonly causes chest pain.
