In the field of neurosurgery it can seem like each new day is the future. Even still there are goals to achieve that may not be reached until many years down the road.

Working with the UC Davis Health System in Sacramento, Kia Shahlaie, MD, PhD, is well familiar with the city having not only gone to school at the institution but also having grown up in the California capital. Because of that, he said it is even more rewarding to be able to bring the latest technology and treatments to his hometown to help an even wider patient population which he is very familiar with.
