PsA Treatment Guidelines Emphasize Treat to Target

Patients affected by psoriatic arthritis may benefit from both pharmacologic and non-pharmacologic treatments. In this slideshow, we outline the recommendations from the ACR and the National Psoriasis Foundation.

Patients affected by psoriatic arthritis may benefit from both pharmacologic and non-pharmacologic treatments. But, with the wide variety of therapies available, including NSAIDS, intraarticular injections, and immunomodulatory therapies, it can be a challenge to identify the best treatment for a particular patient. To address this need, the American College of Rheumatology and the National Psoriasis Foundation collaborated on guidelines for the pharmacologic and non-pharmacologic treatment of psoriatic arthritis. These recommendations are intended to help providers and patients determine the appropriate therapy based on the patient’s individual clinical needs. In this slideshow, we outline the recommendations.REFERENCE:  Singh J, Guyatt G, Gladman D, et al., 2018 American College of Rheumatology/National Psoriasis Foundation Guideline for the Treatment of Psoriatic Arthritis.
