Emilio Perucca, MD, PhD, from the University of Pavia in Italy discussed how treatment has progressed on the global stage during the annual meeting of the American Epilepsy Society in Philadelphia. In addition to his work in Italy Perucca also serves as the President of the International League Against Epilepsy so has seen firsthand the many factors that can affect the care patients get for this potentially life threatening condition.
