When people think of digital health aids they may not think beyond their smartphone or other wearable devices. Work is being done to move this field in a direction even more helpful than currently used.

Uday Kumar, MD, of iRythym Technologies discussed the differences between the more commercially available tools and those that can benefit patient health in more meaninguful ways during the annual American Heart Association meeting in Orlando.

Patients may have an idea of what is best for them and what they need to improve their health, but as with other parts of the field it can fall to the doctor to give them the best guidance they can to help their overall quality of life.
