With research of progressive multiple sclerosis lagging behind that of the relapsing form of the condition a group of the top minds from around the world is looking to speed up the process to help patients that need it most.

Alan J. Thompson, MD, FRCP, from University College London discussed the goals of the alliance during the 2015 Annual Meeting of the Consortium of Multiple Sclerosis Centers. Thompson said that while there is some natural competition among the members to be the first to a significant breakthrough, the ultimate goal is to improve the condition of patients with the disease.
