Technology has improved a lot throughout the medical field which has helped patients with a variety of conditions. For those with congenital heart issues that can mean getting advice and help they need even when the doctors are not near their location.

Doreen deFaria Yeh, MD, from Massachusetts General Hospital said that while not all facilities have a certified congenital heart doctor technology allows for consultations to be made remotely before the patient needs to be seen in person. Yeh said a recent statement from the American Heart Association provided better guidance on how to make those referrals to give patients the help they need when they need it.
