Patients with multiple sclerosis face a variety of challenges in their daily lives, especially when they experience a relapse. How they and their healthcare professionals approach these relapses can impact their overall quality of life even after the relapse passes.

Jack Burks, MD, Chief Medical Officer of the Multiple Sclerosis Association of America addressed how important working with patients is during the 2015 Annual Meeting of the Consortium of Multiple Sclerosis Centers in Indianapolis. Burks said that while doctors may treat many patients in various stages of the condition it is important to treat each one as an individual to assure the best results.
