With three anti-VEGF drugs on the market now and the potential for more on the horizon, Carl Regillo, MD, said there is a lot that can be done to help these patients once they get over the "initial shock" of the delivery method of the medication. Regillo, speaking at the annual meeting of the American Academy of Ophthalmology in Chicago, said there is a risk of infection in treatment but that the medication can still help most patients with the condition.
