"The goal or my research, and the goal of a lot of people's research is that we can move it to a situation similar to how cancer is treated -- this is what's causing the cancer; this is the genetic mechanism underlying it; and, here, this is the medication that'll fix the problem -- that's what we're working towards," said Jansen.
