United Rheumatology Hosts Virtual Conference on Friday

United Rheumatology, a management services organization serving over 645 rheumatologists in 39 states, will host a one-day virtual clinical conference focusing on managing a rheumatology practice through the COVID-19 pandemic.

United Rheumatology, a management services organization serving over 645 rheumatologists in 39 states, will host a one-day virtual clinical conference focusing on managing a rheumatology practice through the COVID-19 pandemic.

The seminar, “On Survival and Resilience: Managing A Rheumatology Practice Through the COVID-19 Pandemic,” will take place 11 a.m. – 4 p.m. EST on April 17.

In addition to opening remarks by the United Rheumatology leadership team: Max Hamburger, M.D., founder and executive chairman; Douglas Tardio, ppresident and CEO; and, Andrew Concoff, M.D., executive vice president and chief value medical officer, the meeting will include a physician roundtable and a long list of guest speakers, including Paul Emery, M.D., of the Leeds Institute Rheumatic and Musculoskeletal Medicine in the United Kingdom, will address the view on COVID-19 from Europe; and, Leonard Calabrese, D.O., of the Cleveland Clinic Department of Immunologic and Rheumatic Diseases who, with Cassandra Calabrese, D.O., also of the Cleveland Clinic, will address targeted immunomodulators.

Other speakers include Steve Catani of UnitedHealth Group Research and Development who will address, “Health Plan View of the COVID-19 Pandemic,” and Seth Ginsberg, co-founder and president of Global Healthy Living Foundation Creaky Joints who will discuss patient messaging.

Travis Butler and Xhemil (John) Koliani of CohnReznick will address the CARES Program; and, Dr. Concoff will speak on “Surveillance and Survey:  Two Data-Sharing Approaches to Evaluate the Risks of COVID-19 Infection Among Patients with Rheumatic Disease.” Mr. Tardio and Mr. Murphy will address “Financial Considerations and Managing Your Practice.”
