A CDC report claims ER visits that involved the non-medical use of narcotic pain medications more than doubled in the US between 2004 and 2008.

The number of patients exhibiting drug seeking behavior in emergency rooms and doctors' offices across the country is increasing, according to a report released by the CDC. The CDC report claims, "the number of ER visits that involved non-medical use of narcotic pain medications more than doubled in the United States between 2004 and 2008."
