As one of the components of the CHADS2 score diabetes is a known risk for stroke. A recent study looked at how rivaroxaban, also known as Xarelto, can help patients reduce this potentially deadly health issue.

Frank W. Peacock IV, MD, from the Baylor College of Medicine, discussed recent studies on the medication which showed how beneficial it can be for this patient population. Peacock said as more is learned about hte medication they will study other conditions as well, including its benefits for patients with cancer.
