As one of the leading educational institutions on the island of Grenada, St. George's University plays a unique role not only in helping the students that come to the school to learn but also those who have already called the island home.

While many of the students at St. George's University were not alive during the political unrest the country experienced, G. Richard Olds, MD, said as the president of the institution he has seen a solid relationship formed over the years with not only the government but also the people of the island. Olds said in addition to the international students who attend there are also deisgnated slots available for Grenadians in the medical program and now in the nursing program as well. Olds said he sees more to come in the future which will help St. George's to thrive far beyond where it was when it started in the 1970's.
