It has been many years since Howard Schatz was a practicing physician and while he said the retina specialty has changed he has also seen the field of photography change as digital passes the age of film.

It has been many years since Howard Schatz was a practicing physician and while he said the retina specialty has changed he has also seen the field of photography change as digital passes the age of film.

While many doctors today will either not have the opportunity to find a second calling or will simply not choose to make the bold move Schatz said it is up to the individual to chart their own course. Speaking at the annual meeting of the American Society of Retina Specialists in San Francisco, Schatz said that much like in his medical practice he continues to work to improve in the field of photography with every picture he takes.
