One of the consequences of lung disease for patients can be significant sleep issues. While these are important to manage in the general population, the need is even greater for this group as well.

Working with UC Davis Health System Kimberly A. Hardin, MD, said she is glad to work with a program that incorporates potential issues with sleep into their overall pulmonary rehabilitation program. And while the masks associated with machines meant to help patients with sleep apnea may be uncomfortable, Hardin said a significant amount of work has been done to find newer and more comfortable masks for a variety of patients.
