Cawley, PharmD, RRT, CPFT, Associate Professor of Clinical Pharmacy, Philadelphia College of Pharmacy, University of the Sciences in Philadelphia, reviews the signs and symptoms of hyponatremia in at-risk patients, discusses the role of current and emerging pharmacotherapies according to available safety and efficacy data, and presents several strategies that can help clinicians diagnose and manage hyponatremic patients with the goal of reducing morbidity, mortality, and hospital length of stays.
