Once a patient is diagnosed with fibroids it is up to the doctor to determine the best course of treatment. Even as more treatment options are being developed there are already some solid choices depending on the age of the patient and other factors.

Once a patient is diagnosed with fibroids it is up to the doctor to determine the best course of treatment. Even as more treatment options are being developed there are already some solid choices depending on the age of the patient and other factors.

Whether a patient is nearing menopause or considering becoming pregnant are just two of the major factors Scott G. Chudnoff, MD, of Montefiore Medical Center said doctors and patients need to consider when looking at treatment options. Because options can includea range of surgical procedures, including hysterectomy there are plenty of options to choose from even as new methods are under development.
