IV Golimumab Approved for Rheumatoid Arthritis
July 25th 2013The FDA has approved Simponi Aria, Janssen Pharmaceuticals' intravenous formulation of the TNF-alpha inhibitor golimumab, for moderate to severe rheumatoid arthritis. This adds a new, quick-delivery option to the subcutaneous form already available.
Lower Rituximab Dose Not Linked to RA Progression
July 24th 2013A small study from three centers in the Netherlands shows that there is no good rationale for increasing the standard 2 x 1000 mg infusion dose of rituximab to reduce progression of structural damage over one year in patients with active rheumatoid arthritis (RA), and a lower dose may even prevent progression adequately.
