In This Issue... If you turned to this page looking for the “From the Editor,” authored by our dynamic editor-in-chief, Lisa Schulmeister, RN, MN, and were dismayed to find “From the Publisher” instead, turn Lisa’s new column, “Nurse’s Notes.” We are excited to bring you this column, which will appear in every issue of OncNurse moving forward, and will serve as an extension of Lisa’s blog on HCPLive.com, OncNurse’s online sister network. In this issue’s “Nurse’s Notes,” Lisa tackles the topic of age discrimination in nursing, which is a topic more worthy of her writing time than constructing a synopsis of this issue, a task that can be handled by a publisher.

This month’s cover story, “Finding love despite illness: Examining emerging disease-focused dating Websites” outlines a new genre of Websites that aims to help individuals with an illness such as cancer make a love connection. There are countless single or newly divorced people with cancer, and Websites such as these can serve as an important resource for these individuals who may want to date, but are afraid to jump in for fear of being rejected because of their illness. Our second feature story examines the Lynx Mobile system, a mobile charge capture system that can prevent practices from losing money because of improper charge capture, a problem that affects hospitals and medical facilities throughout the United States and results in millions of dollars being lost annually.

The 35th Oncology Nursing Society Congress will be taking place in San Diego, California, between May 13 and May 16. OncNurse will be exhibiting at the Congress and our editors will be reporting from the event. Be sure to stop by our booth, as we’d love to hear from you. If you are unable to attend the Congress, be sure to visit http://hcplive.com/conferences, where you’ll find daily conference recaps.

We hope you enjoy this issue of OncNurse, and would love to know what you think of it. Do not hesitate to drop us a line if you have a comment or if there is a topic you’d like to see covered in an upcoming issue. You can e-mail the editor, Christina Loguidice, at cloguidice@onclive.com.

Thank you for reading!
