HDL and LDL may be the more well known components of a patient's cholesterol level but as researchers dig deeper new information is coming to light about very low-density lipoprotein or VLDL.

As this is a relatively new discovery in the field Samia Mora, MD, from Brigham & Women's Hospital said there is still a lot that needs to be learned about it to see how it can affect patient care in the future. Maura discussed the topic during the American College of Cardiology's 65th Annual Scientific Session & Expo in Chicago.
