We're Extending the Deadline for the 2010 Nettie Award Nominations!

We're asking readers to nominate their favorite websites and online resources.

In the August issue of MDNG, we announced the return of the MDNG Awards for Excellence in Online and Social Media Healthcare Resources, better known as “The Netties.” Designed to honor the best of the best online tools and resources for physicians and patients, the Netties will recognize the people, websites, and resources that help our readers improve productivity and efficiency in their professional and personal lives and deliver better care.

Because there are so many useful and informative websites and online resources, we’ve decided to extend the nominating period for the Netties by another month. We’re also going to open up the process to readers who would like to nominate their favorite websites or resources in any of the 10 Netties categories listed below.

As we mentioned last month, because the online landscape has changed so dramatically since we last awarded the Netties, we’ve added some new categories to update the awards in this bold new world of cloud computing, mobile apps, and social media.

2010 Nettie Awards Categories:

Best Physician-authored Twitter page

Best Physician-authored Blog

Best Physician-created Website (non-blog)

Best Practice Website/Portal

Best Patient-centered Educational Website

Best Health IT Resource

Physician’s Money Digest (PMD) Choice Award for Best Financial Resource for Physicians

Best Mobile App

Best Pharma-created Resource for Physicians

Best Online CME Resource

E-mail your nominations to Managing Editor Chris Cole. We’ll announce the nominees in the October issue of MDNG, and reveal the winners in November. Stay tuned to HCPLive, PMD, and our other network websites for additional news and information!
