September 1st 2011A 17-year-old boy presented with a 3-day history of left upper quadrant abdominal pain; intermittent pain radiated to the right side. The patient complained of nonbilious vomiting and nausea and reported subjective fever. He also had a decreased appetite and up to 10 daily bouts of nonmucoid diarrhea.
Nucynta® ER FDA-Approved for Management Of Chronic Pain
August 30th 2011Nucynta® ER, an extended-release formulation of tapentadol, has received FDA aproval for the management of moderate to severe chronic pain. The oral analgesic, to be taken twice daily, is to be used for chronic pain in adults when a continuous, around-the-clock opioid analgesic is needed for an extended period.
